Hello all,

I'm new to the NAS lite product and am looking at purchasing the NasLite 2 USB. I currently am running a linux samba server but admin of it is just a pain as I'm not home alot and I'm having some issues with it when copying alot of files over to it at once. I have 2 300GB PATA drives which I'm looking at adding a 3rd and going Raid 5 on a 3Ware 7506-4LP. I couldn't find any info on the forums regarding the 7506 (search came back empty for that card) and most people seem to have the SATA drives. I don't have the Raid card yet nor the 3rd drive so I'd like to keep things as cheap as possible and not necessarily go SATA right now. Is this an ok setup? My machine I'm running it in now is pretty stable hardware wise but it's been so long since it was my main machine that I am not sure off the top of my head how what CPU it's running nor memory but it serves ok as the samba server so I'm sure the NAS Lite will be fine.

So will this raid card fit the bill for NAS Lite 2.0 USB? or should I look at something else?

Thanks,

Lance

The NASLite-2 Hardware Reference Guide lists the 3ware Inc "7xxx/8xxx-series PATA/SATA" as supported, so you should be OK with that card.

Thanks for the link. I had looked on the forums and missed the PDF.
