 Post subject: Problems with new HDD

Hello guys,
at first i have to sorry for my bad english, because i´m a german guy!

My problem is: my server can´t see and initial my new HDD seagate barracuda250gb.
the order is primary master-cdrom, primary slave-samsung sp1604n,
(logically jumpered as the same, or i´m wrong?)
primary master-seagate barracuda 250gb, primary slave-samsung sv0844a.
booting from cdrom... the nas can´t see the seagate i´ve tested many jumper settings! the hdd is brand new and runs if it becomes power.

May be it's a dead disk. It happened to me 2 times in the last year...

Can you install the new disk in another PC and see if BIOS sees it?..

Try putting the cdrom on the primary channel and the new HDD on the secondary channel. Also be sure the the ribbon cable is good. Give this a shot and it should boot, assuming that the drive is good.
