Sorry for the noob questions.
I have an old Abit BE6-II rev 2 board that I would like to install NASlite 2 on. I want to have 4 drives, so I dont really want to get the CDD version. The bios doesnt support boot from USB. In the NASlite 2 manual it shows that there is a HDD version, but I dont see where this version is available.

Looking over the manual it looks like I might be able to get this board to boot from USB by using a 'kicker' and a floppy drive.

How do I know if this will work?
Is there a HDD version?
Can anyone explain what this 'kicker' is?

TIA

HDD version not available yet. Hopefully coming soon.

The kicker is used when you boot from a floppy and the floppy contains DOS drivers which find your USB stick and then loads the program on the USB stick and runs it, thus booting NASLite. This allows you to "boot" from USB even though your BIOS doesn't support it. Really you are booting from floppy which then "kicks" over to the USB drive.

Search the forum for links to the kicker disk files and how to test booting from USB with a kicker diskette.

For example, this one:

Thank you. That thread was helpful.
I tried them and I'm not sure if it worked or not, I replied in that thread.
