Does anyone know if there will be any support in NASlite to support Fiber Channel controllers and Fiber Channel Drives?

It would be nice and would take care of any drive speed issues. Data could be transported across the network at true network speeds.

Just a thought, would be nice if that was a possiblity.

Look forward to input from the forum.

I'll slap one of my FC-AL cards into my NAS server this evening and see. The real question is are there any drivers in the OS to support it?

I checked the hardware list. Fiber Channel is supported. Does anyone have experience with this interface and NASLite?

I have several arrays of Fiber Channel Drives, I will test and let you know how they are initialized with NASlite.

Thanks

FC-AL drives are just like SCSI drives as far as the way they are seen by the OS. You Fdisk and format them just the same as any other SCSI device. The question is does the OS have the drivers for the card you or I would have and use. I have 4 different FC-AL controlers cards, one or more of which I would hope will have drivers that work. I will also give it a try and post up the results. I have a couple of arrays to give it a try on.
