Hiya everyone. Again another question before i make purchases!

I am planning to build a terabyte NAS using 4x 500gb HD's in a RAID 10 array.

I was looking at the Adaptec 1420SA card, then decided to go for the 2410SA card as the 1420SA uses HostRAID (software based RAID). After looking a little on the hardware compatability forum (link here - http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/showproduct.php?product=1163&cat=275), I found that someone has had an issue with the card in certain distro's. I am a virgin to Linux, and wouldn't know where to start!!

The question is does anyone know if the card (Adaptec 2410SA 4 Port SATA) works with Naslite 1.x / 2.x?

Cheers guys!!

The Adaptec 2410SA is listed as supported in the NASLite-2 Hardware Reference Guide

Hiya,

cheers for you reply. I know its listed in the hardware listing in the documentation, It is also on the link I posted previously.

I don't think i make myself clear. In the link i sent, someone said they had issues with it running under certain distro's, and I wanted to know if anyone had actually USED this card, or has 1st hand experience and knew if it actually worked? I have purchased hardware based on the fact it is listed as compatible with other hardware before, and found out it wasn't compatible after I purchased it and tried it!! (Prescott CPU & Mobo! - DOH!! lol).

Cheers!

Oh well, no one got back to me who actually had used the card with NASLite, so I bit the bullet and bought one. Got one brand new for £55. This a good price for a 4 port hardware SATA RAID card?

Cheers!!
