I have a question that I know someone in these forums can answer for me. Recently my file server, a Pentium 100 with 48MB RAM, running NASLite-SMB had the primary IDE controller die for some unknown reason. My situtation is that now I have both of my drives on the secondary controller.

The Master drive labeled Disk-4 now was a slave hard drive labeled Disk-3 on the secondary controller and the Slave drive labeled Disk-4 now labeled was the slave drive labeled Disk-2 on the primary controller.

My question is this: Is there a risk of losing any of my data due to the fact that the labels have not been changed by myself (or for that matter the OS, since the time that the labels were originally created?)

When I go thru the web interface and click on the links to the old references, specifically Disk-2 it says that disk-2 is not installed.

Any insight so that I can sleep better is greatly appreciated.

Also want to say that NASLite is a awesome product that has become more useful than mere words can express.

Your data is still there, just change the disk name in the link to reflect the changes made by NASLite in the disk naming.

You do know that there are machines out there that can be had for around $25.00? Something like a Celeron500 with 128MB of RAM. It would be a much better choice for the given service and the controlers would be faster as well.
