I've used livecds forever - and never had any networking problems, but this new Ubuntu 14.10 (which is now my primary machine) has me stumped. I can mount any windows share from a variety of machines with zero problems - but can never connect smb to any of our naslites. FTP is OK, might have even connected with Rsync...but never smb :(

I'm using V2.66 & 2.67 Naslite 2 and would sure appreciate hearing of any magic you folks may have developed. This is irritating.

You may have to install samba from the command line (Terminal)
sudo apt-get install samba

I used Ubuntu for awhile and had the same problem as you did and installed samba and it finally worked.
Note! You may be better off using Linux Mint or better yet ZorinOS. I installed Linux mint and had the same problem as in Ubuntu. I decided to install ZorinOS and never had a problem.
