hello,
I'm interested with Naslite+,
but Naslite prepares the hardrive and formats it.
My question is : is the Naslite+ file system NTFS or FAT32 ? or is it private ?
pratically could I connect a harddrive prepared by Naslite, on the IDE socket of a PC, and read it ?
Thanks for advance.
Best regards, LAF
This is correct that NASLite does do this and any data you have on the drive will be lost unless you back it up to another drive.
NASLite uses the EXT2 or EXT3 file system, EXT3 being a journaling file system. I do believe that there is an app or 2 that will allow Windoze to read the EXT file system but why? Linux will do a much better job of it. You can boot off of say a Knoppix DVD or CDROM and read the disk drive and the Fat32 and the NTFS and just about any other drive format for that matter with it.
It is a great app and well worth the price. Very stable and fast and it now supports hardware RAID cards for even more speed.
