Think I spoke too soon! A week or so ago the NASlite box appeared to freeze when writing to or from it, although I could still connect via the "web" interface and see the usual info. I could also telnet and select reboot etc. Tried this, still had freezes, so telnetted and selected"Shutdown" it went through the motions, although I didn't have the "disconnecting" message.... but when I physically shutdown the NASlite box and later restarted it I found disk corruption once again as I'd had previously when powered off by accident.
In view of the other conmments in the forum, I'mreluctant to blame Naslite for my problems, but I'm getting very frustrated by all the disk corruptions. Is it NASlite at fault, or should I suspect the PC - specifically the IDE controllers - the HDD (I've had similar ptroblems with several disks)- or what? Will the HDD version 2 be the answer (when it arrives)?

I have been bringing up and taking down my machine alot lately and have had none of those problems. I had been switching between NL1.0 and NL2.0 when I was doing this and never once did I have any trouble. I would take a very serious look at the hardware.

Thanks, Mike, for the advice.

In the absence of any other mobo to try, I've put the (lone) HDD on the IDE secondary channel, and, touch wood, it's been running stably for a week or so. But, and don't tell my wife, I should get another machine to strip/cannibalise shortly so will be able to experiment further.

Regards
Hugo
