Hi,

Today I accidentally disconnected my NasLite+ server from the network. When I connected the cable again the network was unable to re-connect. When I connected a monitor to the server, there was an error message line comimg up every 10 seconds: "r8169: eth0: Reset RTL8169s PHY".

I've tried to wait it out for a couple of hours, but it wouldn't end.
Then I managed to login (by typing "login" and then user and password).
The login screen seems perfectly allright, but the error message keeps coming..... I've also rebooted, but it didn't help. I'v also put in a new floppy disk and configured everything all over again, but to no avail. The same message keeps coming!

I've got 2 Maxton 300 GB disks and NASLite+ CDv1.5 in the server, and it has worked fine a couple of months.

Somebody help, please?

Make sure the ethernet card is properly seated in the computer.

Try a different cable or a different port on your router/switch/hub.

I would also try doing a shut down and turn off the power on the NASLite machine. I've seen cases where cards got stuck in a state that even a reboot didn't fix but a power down did.

Try everything smeyer suggested.

I bought a Cat6 cable that was bad (wouldn't connect @ 1Gbs o Gigabit switch) and I kept getting those same messages even after I switched cables. It didn't correct itself until I powered down and rebooted.

Also power cycle your switch to reset the tables in it, I had that happen once as well. Strange, no?
