Okay, I am using expect with Ubuntu to shutdown Naslite USB and it works great running it in konsole or xterm, but when I automate it in the UPS software, it errors out. I debugged to file and I am getting the same thing Roland above gets.. it complains about screen size too small.

I have tried coding in expect, PHP and perl and they get the same thing. I wonder if it is Naslite that is causing the problems. It happens after the login. I can enter Username and PC, but then when screen blanks and goes to Naslite Menu it just errors about screen size, and no futher input is possible. I duplicated this in konsole by telnetting with a small window, and sure enough it errors after login. I make the screen bigger and then it allows input. I wish there was a simpler way of shutting down the NAS , perhaps a telnet shell that is simplified and dedicated for UPS shutdown. Kinda like login with a different uname pw , it sends you over to different shell issue one choice to shutdown and end the telnet session. Somehow I believe the Naslite Menu is causing problems. Any (Roland) figure this out? Sounds simple .....
