Hi,

i use smart boot manager to boot off cds, if the bios doesnt support it.

you can download it under http://btmgr.webframe.org/

it runs on an 80386+ and its OpenSource

Any way to get a system to boot from SCSI CD when there is no SCSI option in the Bios boot?

Some boards will have "TRY OTHER DEVICES" or something of that sort as part of the BIOS boot sequence. That is known to work with SCSI devices...

some of the controllers have a built-in cd-boot function.

are the hard-disks (if any) connected to the scsi-controller empty/not bootable?

i have an PCI-IDE controller (Promise Ultra 100TX2) and when he detects a bootable cd and boots from it.

I use an adaptec SCSI card which supports booting as soon as it finds a bootable disc at startup. Takes care of everything all on it's own.
