Until today i thought i was pretty much up to speed with Naslite but i noticed a post from Tony about a kicker disk.

After some searching ive not managed to locate a definative description of what this is.

Am i right in saying this is a floppy disk that enables non boot from USB pcs to boot from USB e.g. old compaqs that had USB but no boot from funtionality.

If this is the case then i am very excited as it means i can start using Naslite+.

Is there any way to download this kicker disk to see if it locates USB hardware properly?

How does one go about making this magic kicker floppy?

I just bought the Server Suite. I am hoping after I burn the NasLite+ USB iso to a cdrom and then boot from it in the pc, it will give an option to create the kicker floppy.

Thanks

Part of the downloaded image contains a folder called "Tools" and in this folder is the kicker disk utility, you just run the kicker disk program on your pc, insert a blank floppy into the floppy drive and it makes the kicker disk. Eden has made up a couple of other kicker disks should your NASlite motherboard not be compatible with the original Lusid one

IMHO the kicker disk means the CD version is redundant and is as important a feature as the 4gb SMB limit been lifted 8)
