I have just set myself a nas server up, but seem to be having some problems with actually getting it to work. Here are the specs of the system.

EPIA M6000 motherboard
256mb Corsair value ram
300gb Seagate Hard Drive
128mb no-name USB

I got the USB stick set up and rebooted, then formatted the hard drive , now the system won't boot, the system gets to the verifying DMI pool data and then does nothing , i can only imagine this is due to the drive having been formatted.

Anyone have any ideas as to what to do to get past this stage so i can actually use the server ??

Check the BIOS and make sure you set all HDs to "not installed". If that doesn't work, then unplug the HD and try booting again. If it boots OK without the HD, then check the HD jumpers and make sure you have it set properly as master or slave and not cable-select.

Hope that helps...

That did it, so used to leaving the drives as auto in the bios , didn't think of turning them off. Thank you for the help
