Assuming you are using a standard USB Flash drive, install the USB Flash drive and kicker floppy with the machine powered down. Turn the machine on and allow the boot process to take effect.

Take a look at the screen and see if the kicker floppy USB driver detects the USB interface and reports no drives found or does it just hang. You may want to try disabling USB 2.0 support in the bios if it is available.

Although there are instances that will not be supported by the USB driver on the kicker floppy, most hardware combinations should work just fine. This is a long shot, but try moving the USB Flash drive to another USB port.

I couldn't get my system to boot with the Kicker floppy and a brand-new "disgo lite" 128MB USB Flash Drive - despite trying everything that I could think of.
Having read posts in another thread about Kicker problems I was going to buy a PCI USB card and try that; but today I tried an un-branded USB stick from DABS and it worked :P
