For some odd reason, I am having trouble burning the v1.5 iso image for both the USB and the CDROM based versions. In both cases, burning fails after about 30 seconds. I verified that I am able to burn images by burning a working v1.4 image of the cdrom-based system (after 5 attempts on v1.5).

So far, I have gone through 7 CDs. I am using 2 completetly different downloads, one for USB and the other for CD. It would be odd that both are corrupt and I have verified that I can burn a 1.4 image CD. Is there something broken in the image??

I am using Sonic DigitalMedia Home v7.

RecordNow v6 says "The disc is incompatible with the source disk."

Nero V6 also complains, "The entered block size idoes not correspond to the image length. The block size may be wrong. Do you want to correct the value or ignore the problem?" I selected "Ignore the problem" and it seems to work. You have a bug. If the customer is lucky, they can get around it. In any case, your image is broken.

The ISO images available on the website are tested and working. My
initial thoughts, since you are experiencing problems with multiple
images, are that your burning software is not handling the ISO image
properly. Personally I use Nero and am not familiar with Sonic
DigitalMedia Home. Currently however, there are quite a large number of
v1.5 servers in operation - all created using the same download
mechanism and the same ISO images. I'd have to assume that there was a
variety of CD burning software used to create those.

Hope that helps.

Tony.

There's been well over 700 downloads since we released v1.5.

Hello David,

I’m sorry to hear that you are still having a problem, but like I said in my original email to you – The ISO images are good and have worked for everyone else. Are you suggesting that we have made available broken images and everyone that has downloaded them has been lucky to get around the bugs? ;-)

I personally assure you that the images available on the website are not broken, with bugs or with any other flaw that will prevent a properly configured system to download them and burn them onto a CD.

Anyway, it is possible that the images were damaged during download, so I’ll take a serious look at your browser, security settings, virus protection software, firewall settings, etc. Whatever is causing the problem is most definitely not on this end.

Again, I hope this helps.

I cannot explain it either. The image does work after telling Nero to ignore the problem.

A problem with the download seems plausable, but it happened with two different downloads of v1.5. I have used 3 different cd burning software packages. The only common factor is that I used Firefox to download the image. I'll try IE and see if that changes things.

Oddly enough, if I download the image using IE, I can burn the image successfullly. The problem seem to be caused, somehow, by using Firefox. This seems too weird.

Thanks for the help, Tony!
