First post here....and i feel like i should know the answer to this but early Sunday morning i can't seem to get the answer myself.

I have a small 5 pc network at home. For the purposes of learning i am about to setup a Windows Server 2003 Std machine running Active Directory. I have this older machine sitting here i would like to purchase and run Naslite+ on.

Specs:

Celeron 1.2
512mb Ram
200gig Seagate
Dlink DGE-530T Gigabit card.

Would it be possible to add in the naslite+ machine and still be able to see the machine despite the fact it can't join the domain in windows?

Also anyone know if that Dlink Gigabit card will work? Supposedly it's based on a Marvel chipset although i can't seem to confirm that.

Thanks for the help!

UB

24 reads and no idea whether this will work?

I guess i will just have to find out!

Basic question again can a computer that is part of a domain still connect to a share that is part of a workgroup?

Thanks

You will be able to use it on an active directory domain, however if your domain controller is down you may not be able to connect from machines that are members of the domain without a manual authentication process.
