Tony,

I am amongst many others that would appreciate NASLite++ (alias v2 perhaps) providing support for

1) SATA
2) RAID

I was wondering if software RAID would make the implementation less h/w dependant and therefore easier to implement? In terms of supporting RAID functions I would suggest RAID 1 or 5 and the only things to do would be to

a) create RAID 1 or 5 array
b) report status showing bad drive
c) repair

SATA support may not be too difficult, but then again I am speaking from total lack of knowledge here (same as elsewhere, really) :D

I, for one, would be very happy to pay for these extra features and wouldn't expect you to develop these for nothing. I am already VERY appreciative of NASLite+ but if these were added, then I could easily sell NASLite++ to my customers for small business file servers.

I am sure that these additions are well within your capabilities. What do you say?

both of these requests have been discussed at length before so there is lots of official and unofficial responses to them on the forum already.

perhaps you should browse through and read that :)
