Hi all,
I am having the same problem connecting with nfs and smb.
a bit of history
G5
Tiger latest
NASLite+ for USB v1.4
I have been using NASLite in various incarnations for over a year now. It always worked flawlessly.
I have
2 users on my machine.
- The main user (me) has no problem connecting to all disks in either nfs or smb, automation or manually.
- The second user was added a few months ago. Connection to disks is achieved through automation by an Applescript launched at login,
although connecting through "Connect to server..." Finder menu does not work (I get the same error message mentioned at the beginning of this thread).
So to sum up, of the two users on my G5, one can access NASLite disks in nfs with no problem, the other can do so only when the script is executed, but not by making use of the "Connect to server..." menu.
Due to relocation of my G5 to my new music studio, I am setting up an old iBook G3 500 to be our new household computer.
I haven't been able to connect it to the NASLite box with nfs. Smb worked, but only by accessing
smb://192.168.0.20 first, then choosing the disk and OK with no password. Direct access
smb://192.168.0.20/export/disk-1 (or other) denied.
I have tried the minauth fix, repaired permissions, no change.
Last resort will be upgrading NASLite to v1.5 (I have DL'd the update quite a while ago, but haven't come round to installing it yet), is there any reason to think doing so would fix the problem?
And of all people mentioning problems at the beginning of this thread, have any managed to fix the problem?
Any help/comment much appreciated.
