Hello, I got NASLite+ set up ok and right to the stage where I choose option '4' to set up the hard disks but then it all goes wrong. I get:

UMOUNT: /export/Disk-1: No such disk or directory.

(I get this whether 1,2,3 or 4 selected).

Donor PC is a Dell XPS-D300 (PII 300 with 128Mb RAM). The network card is ok, floppy fine, everything really and the actual hard disk checks out ok plus I can see that NASLite+ 'sees' the disk is there during start-up.

Bit confused. Help!?

Richard

That's strange...

Can you post the SYS_Log page contents so I can take a look at the hardware?

Wait for 5 or so minutes after boot and there will be content in the SYS_Log page. That is the content where hardware will be listed...

Are you using the onboard IDE controller?

Hi, yes, I believe so. There isn't much to fiddle with in BIOS either - very basic.

This is strange:

/dev/ide/host1/bus1/target1/lun0

Ususally the secondary master is on host1/bus0/target0. This is the first case i've seen where all 3 are 1. There is definately something that is misconfigured in the BIOS or in board jumpers.

I don't see IDE0 enywhere. There usually is IDE0/IRQ14 and IDE1/IRQ15. In your case you do have IDE1/IRQ15, but the bus or target should usually render as 0.

There may also be a bus conflict due to an installed card, hence the problem with IDE0.

Anyway, the hardware is most definately misconfigured somewhere.

I'm having the exact same problem, if anyone has come across a solution to the hardware issue I'd appreciate a quick explanation of how they resolved it.
