Hi, i have been using naslite 1 usb version for some time now. I wanted to upgrade my storage, so bought 2 couple of 2 tb drives, and some ide to sata converters from maplin link http://www.maplin.co.uk/sata-to-ata-convertor-222115

when i turn my server on, if i use the bios auto detect it will pick these drives up, i did this just to check. it is currently disabled.

When naslite boots, it mounts my other disks fine but wont mount the sata (ide) drives, and if i go to format the disk it says no suck drive. After initial boot it says unsuccessfull along the two drives.

Is it simply a case up upgrading my version of naslite, or is it a more serious problem such as the adaptors wont work with any version, or do i need a sata board/pci card?

If its an upgrade, i dont mind as this piece of software is well worth the money, but if theres no point then i wont bother....

Thanks
Rick

a few things there - naslite + only supports 4 drives - said to be ide - no idea what the converters will show to naslite 2 - i did try something similar on naslite - cannot remember why i dumped them but i did and bought a sata card - in truth thats your best option and upgrade to naslite 2

naslite + has not been updated for a while i think and dont think it will be

i would take those back to maplins - and do the job right
