I have recently upgraded to Gigabit and several times the system has locked up with scrolling error 'Too much work at interrupt !'

Would anyone have any ideas about this or is it something simple like I need more memory ?

Below is a dump which shows an example :-

Sounds like an IRQ problem. You may have to revisit your BIOS settings in order to correct the problem.

SOLVED MY PROBLEM

Bought an Intel PRO1000 XT Gig nic on Ebay for a tenner, replaced the Realtek 8169 nic and the problem has gone.

Also now added more memory but no significant speed increase noticed, but Task Manager (XP) now shows a very smooth line at 7%.

Network utilisation shows as 7% and a 3.9Gb folder moved or copied in 7.5 minutes.

Don't know if this is good, bad or average speed.
