At first, really great software!

some question:
a) whats the reason to set time to UTC ? I like the idea, but most other parts of the network use local time, so if you use a backup software this could create problems when the software compares times to make decision if file changed?

It would be nice if the NASlite server would connect to a time server and correct time itself.(atomic clock)

b) Is there a simpler way to start the shut down procedure (spin down of HD) then to login via telnet etc.....The reason for asking, if connected to UPS its rather complicated to make a script to do this full telnet procedure to spin down, before the battery is empty in the UPS. Now I would need a script in one of the PCs connected and controlled via UPS to send this telnet commandsssss to NAS. Is there any easier way to invoke this?

a) UTC is necessary since NASLite eliminates localization. That reduces the OS image size by a fair ammont. At 4Mb, there simply isnt much room for binaries.

b) We are looking at alternate shutdown methods, but for now, with current versions of NASLite, the admin menu is the only safe way of shutdown.
