When installing and running NASLite+, do I have to physically detach or remove any drives that will not be under NASLite+ control to keep them from getting overwritten? I want to dual boot a computer into NASLite+ / WinXP.

Also, if I understand correctly, the only way to get your existing data into NASLite+ is to mount the drive in a second system and transfer the data across the network. Is there a better way?

Thanks,

You don't have to remove the drive you don't want to format but it can't hurt just to be safe.

There are programs that will allow you to read/write EXT2/3 partitions (NASLite+ is EXT2 only, no Journal) from windows XP. You could use one of them to copy your data over to the NAS drive in the dual boot machine.

You know that if you have an old P200 or the like that NL1+ will work just fine on it and you will not have to go through the Dual boot thing.
