Hi,
I can create a file (from openoffice) on naslite+ using NFS but then the file is marked read only and I (the owner) can't change it later. I'm using SUSE 9.2 and the NFS options are 'defaults'. If I add 'umask=777' to the options I can read and write but then no other computer can see my file.

To the best of my knowledge no changes were made to the naslite+ install.

Anyone have an anwser as what is happening?
John

Hi John,

Your server bounced my email this morning, so I’m glad you posted on the forum. I think that you are not mounting properly. Remove the mount from your fstab and mount manually by explicitly specifying rw. If that works, then you’ll have to modify your fstab accordingly.

I tried on a Slackware as well as a QNX machine, and in both cases I had full read-write access.

Hope that helps.
