Had a power failure today and now when the server boots it reads the floppy but fails to get the config. Any way of getting it back or do I just set it all up again? Don't want to lose any data as there is a LOT of stuff stored on it!!

I have managed to log in OK and am now doing a read-only file system check of all the disks to make sure they are OK.

TIA

Quick update, put the floppy in my own PC and it reads it fine but says it's empty?

Any way to recover it at all?

I'm just a little confused ... you say you are able to log in and do file check. This means you are booting normally, I think, except maybe for the configuration. You should be able to reset the configuration settings manually, then save them back to the floppy, and reboot.

The fact that you are not able to read the floppy on a WinXP system is not a problem, but expected.

Sorry for the confusion. Correct, I had to set it up manually again but I couldn't find my license key, that's why I was trying to recover the floppy but I found it in the end tucked away in the server!!
