What happens if turn Power of?

Is the coniguration deleted? With a hd or USB-device saving is possible, but with CD-ROM it is not possible.

Another Question:
What happens if turning Power of without shuting down?
Would the NASLite+ boot next time I turn the Power on?
What happens to the boot time?
With diskcheck everytime I boot NASLite+?

I'm very interested in NASLite, but I'd like to "power of" the Server because I don't work every day with it.

Greetings

The configuration is stored on a floppy, so every time you boot, the server will assume the same configuration as the last one saved. Turning NASLite+ off is no different than any other computer. As long as you perform a proper shutdown, it is not necessary to wait on reboot.

If a windows PC is not properly shutdown, the boot process will be longer due to a pending disk check.

Hope that helps.

Thank you for the quick answer.

Is the configuration always stored on floppy?
Using a USB-Device, the configuration can there be stored too.

Is ist possible to shut down with the HTML-Interface?

hi

try to google for "Telnet Scripting Tool"
or try http://zipp.dyndns.org/xfiles/public/TST10.zip

you have to edit a simple txt-file to do shutdown from anywhere you can conect your nas+

Hallo zipp,

thank you for the link, it's a fine program.
I'm not a Linux-User, but I've searched for Linux commands.
Am I right:
The only command in the script is "shutdown -h"

By the way, is it possible to backup one hd to another with the command "rsync". Or is this command not included in NASLite+?

Thanks for the help.

yes , thats right for linux. But i don' t know it ' s possible with nas+, also the using of rsync.

Seem' s to be you have to use another host for copying the contents.

I was searching exactly for that, thanks for the tip.
Here is my shutdow script:

192.168.x.x
wait "login:"
send "admin\m"
wait "Password:"
send "nas\m"
wait "Select: >"
send "8\m"
wait "Shutdown: [y/n] >"
send "y\m"
wait "abcd"

The first line should be the IP of your NAS-Server.
The "wait" in the last line is necessary. If its not there, the "y" is sent but the shutdown is not executed. Strange...
