Can I move my HDD's from version 1.5 to version 2.0 without reconfiguring and formatting them?

Yes, and you may want to apply journal in the config menu.

Yes, the existing ext2 filesystem from NASLite 1.x is compatible.

After moving to version 2, you should apply a journal to each disk by:
1. Login to your NASLite server from the console or via telnet
2. Select menu option 3 - Storage Configuration
3. Select the appropriate disk (0, 1, 2, etc.)
4. Select option 7 - Apply Journal to Disk-x Filesystem

NASLite-2 uses both ext2 and ext3. By default, disks are set to ext2. After applying a journal, the fs is converted to ext3.

Thank you.
Just got V2 now.
I have 3 HD in a old NasLiteV1.5 which are, DISK-2, DISK-3, DISK-4. With this new version, will the disks be renamed, DISK-1, DISK-2,DISK-3?
(I have nothing on the Primary master IDE slot)

It only mean I have to re-map the drives to certian computers, as DISK-3 will become DISK-2 etc.

Storage device count starts from 0, so Disk-0, Disk-1, etc. It makes no difference what hardware slot the disk is connected to. Count always starts at 0.

Would that mean, If I added a disk to the NAS box on the primary IDE as a master, that it would become DISK-3 and not DISK-0?
Thx again.
