My really OLD and dedicated NASlite box of 2years has finally given in; it crashed lastnight :(

My question is, with this new "unlock code technology" which "locks" the naslite os to that particular pc, would I have to purchase another copy of NASlite 2 in order to put it on my new box with a new code?

No, just go and do the same thing you did to unlock before. There is no limit to how many times you can unlock the server. It is simply a way to protect the software from getting out on bit torrent and the likes. My box has changed a couple of times since I built it.
