I installed a new server at a location and used RSYNC to copy all of the files from the old server.
After that completed all the files were there, but the user is having issues replacing files in some of the directories and is having issues saving new files into some directories. They also cannot rename files.

They are using AFP on Yosemite and Mavericks.

I had them use FTP to try to solve some of the issues but that is not a great option.

Would a check and repair of the disk solve the issues?

This is the only time I have run into this type of issues on NASLite-2.

Thanks,
Rick

I did some more checking on the network tonight. The Mac was showing a connection as afp:\\Server%20AFP._afpovertcp._tcp.local

I changed it to just afp:\\192.168.1.100 (the server IP) and the files and folders seemed to load faster. I was able to replace files and renames files.

Is the apfovertcp connection a result of using the "Browse" function in OS X?

I also noticed some random files on the folder that contained afpdelte in the filename. Some were years old and appeared to be old lock files. Is this also a part of using the afpovertcp connection?

Thanks,
Rick

I have been doing some more research and from what I can tell Yosemite requires Netatalk 2.2 or greater. Does the latest version of NASLite 2 have version 2.2 or greater?

Thanks,
Rick
