I have a usb external drive enclosure with a 1TB hard drive it in.. it doesn't come up..

here are the logs..

any ideas how I can get it to be recognized?

Try plugging it in and then rebooting the NASLite server. If the drive has not been EXT2 or EXT3 formatted then you will have to go into the config menu and format it first. IF YOU HAVE DATA ON IT YOU WANT TO SAVE THEN MOVE IT OFF FIRST!!!!!

This hard drive was actually in a naslite server before I moved it over to an external hard drive enclosure. Its not a problem with the format of the drive. Nas lite doesn't even see the volume period. In the storage menu its not even there.

I have the nas config stored on a flash usb stick. This is an old computer with only 2 usb ports. I swapped ports, and it did mount the external hard drive but it mounted it as if it were the config floppy! (and it did not mount the flash stick) thus it did not load up the config.

Now the config stick, when plugged into the other usb port, DOES get power, it lights up. So it would seem the other usb stick is working.

It is during the final "PROBING" stage that it finds whatever is plugged into usb 1 and thinks it's the configuration floppy, and doesn't find whatever is plugged into usb 2.

Any ideas?
