The plot thickens have traced the code [5] in the logs to be my compact flash card / reader :(

Is it possible to check the file system for error and fix them on drive 0 ? as there doesn't appear to be an option for this

You are gonna need to pull the CF card and run a low level format followed by a full read/write check to be sure about it. If the CF card is ML memory then there is the chance that the memory cells are failing. If so then consider simply replacing the card with some older and smaller card. I use an old 256MB Sandisk ultra CF card and have had no issues at all.

have used that and it does what it says - i have had all sorts of bother with CF cards - i have a few - they all work but not always in all devices - use some in a camera - they are fine - so when i needed a new one for naslite - took one of the smaller ones and it would not work - put it back in the camera and its fine

go figure

same thing in reverse -again go figure - speed or whatever? - buy a few off ebay - 32meg - 64 - 128 - thay are all big enough and cheap as chips - test them - the ones that work keep the ones that dont work [for you] bin
