Hi All
This is my first post so pls be gentle...
I'm trying to debug a problem that a user of my (Windows) software is having with a NAS that comes as a feature on his router.
The problem seems to relate to long filenames, in that when he shortens filenames to 8 chars or less the problem goes away. He was also able to show that short filenames are implemented differently on Windows and on his NAS once filenames get longer than 8 chars. I was also able to experience similar issues with NASLite-2 when I open a Windows command prompt on the mapped NAS drive and execute a 'dir /x' command.
So my question is (and I have zero experience with Linux) 'Is there a way for me to disable long filenames on NASLite-2' so that I can debug the issue further?
Rgds
Dan
ps. My installation of NASLite-2 is on Virtual PC if that makes a difference.
