Well, after much jumping through hoops I got NASLite up and running on an older LGA 775 mobo with a 3tb drive with assistance from the forum.

Just got back from a client today to find the server is as dead as a stone. I only just bought the software and the machine must have been running for less than a week. Apparently the power tripped which seems to have done major damage (desipite the server running behind a UPS and plug strip with surge protection).

Whatever happend, the motherboard I was using to run the server is totally fried.

Not I problem, I think. That must be the point of writing the software to a USB stick, right?

So I stripped down another spare machine, slapped in the 3tb drive from the server into a new box with a new mobo and plugged the same USB stick with the software into the new machine.

Remarkably, the machine booted straight from NASLite on the USB without having to change bios settings.

The trouble is that the software is no longer unlocked and I don't seem to be able to find the 3tb drive (suspect as a result).

Please someone say the unlock code can be refreshed - switch off the old code and put in a new one?

Looks like this is easily solved.

For those who may have the same problem sometime, here is the fix:

1. Navigate to the NAS ip from your browser - in my case 192.168.0.60

2. Click on the Status link then index.htm then the server icon at the bottom of the next page.

3. In general settings click on the link at the bottom - Unlock page

4. This page gives a new unlock code for the new system.

Pretty simple it seems.

No idea why the 3tb drive can be seen on the NAS yet though.
