Hi

If you did not format the drives, all the data is still there. Naslite is very conservative with data :)

Tell us a bit more. Is Naslite activated, are the drives exported (go in admin and have a look), are the services SMB, AFP etc activated ... ?

Before upgrading did you save the configuration and reload it after?

I think you have your answer then. You simply need to re-enter the IP address and services you wish, save them and finally reboot the NAS box. This should solve your issue. If you have mapped the drives in windows you may need to delete them and remap them to get them working again. In the future remember to save the configuration to an external medium like a USB drive and follow the directions to restore the configuration after a rebuild.

Mike

If you look at his "screen captures", the only option for the drive is Format :(

DISK-0 CONFIGURATION MENU

Disk Model: ST3120022A, SN# 5JS83FX0, v.8.76
Interface: DEVICE-HDA
Status: NOT MOUNTED

*
4 - Run Disk-0 Extended S.M.A.R.T. Self-Test
*
8 - Format Disk-0
*

I think something deep and not funny is the problem. If it was only a drive not seen on the LAN, your suggestion should be good but I think that NL cannot see the drive as formatted.

i saw that with the format being the only option and was puzzled - not near a system to check

i would go back to my fall back mode and boot the system from a linux disc - if that sees the drives and the files than i would be doing a backup copy somewhere - its always said Naslite does not write to the discs at startup which is true - but if it cannot see them it cannot access them - so a backup copy somewhere would be a good idea before playing and risking losing the data
