Hi,
I've a 3ware 9550s raid card installed in my naslite box but can't work out how to configure it.

At the moment i don't even need raid arrays i just wanted to add a couple more sata drive to the system and this card was the same price as a non-raid 4 port sata pci card.

Hopefully i don't need to boot into windows to run the 3DM2 Management Utility?

The cards coming up in Naslites log and there don't seam to be any irq conflicts, but the attached drives dont show up.

(I don't have a cdrom, only usb drives for booting.)

thanks
paul

(edit: just found the 3ware manual, should probably read it!!)

ALT + 3 to enter the bios manager at boot up...

So thats fine, the drive comes up.
But i've just started formatting and its formatting incredibly slowly.
The same 2TB drive took about an 45mins previously (connected to one of the motherboards sata connections )
This looks like it'll take 6 hours...

Is there a way to stop the format operation?
Something must be configured wrong.

RAID formats can take some time... What type of RAID did you use ?

Better not to shut down while formating ;)

If you want to switch to RAID, you'll need to rebuild et format once more :(
