I am currently running SMBG which is no longer supported. I have some machines which will no longer connect due to an XP update.

If I purchase the NASlite-2 is there an upgrade process to follow from SMBG to the new product

Thanks for any help provided

others here may know what SMBG is but a quick google search showed nothing apart from Self-Monitoring Blood Glucose - so a little more info may be useful to try and help you

I believe SMB was freeware offered by server elements. Apparently there was a patch to XP machines which refuses connections. According to support (see comments below)

I am just trying to understand if I can upgrade from the free ware version to one of the purchases versions

SMBG is no longer supported. Microsoft pushed an update that caused XP to refuse connections - read more here:

NASLite-2 and NASLite-M2 have been updated to correct that behavior.

ahhh sorry - i misunderstood - i thought you were referring to some third party software - dont use XP but did read some of the posts here - easy fix is to uninstall the Microsoft update and block it - that puts you back to where you were - what the update does have no idea - you will have to decide if you want to run without it

updating is a matter of buying the software - installing it on whatever medium you want/use and setting it up - it should then work

from what i remember there are no plans to update the free software - think all the paid for versions have been updated - going for Naslite2 offers you many plus's - if you have been happy with the free version - the commercial one is much better - more boot options - no restrictions on types or number of drives and is fully supported
