Hi Gang,

NASLite-M2 - x32 - [ver] 1.65 (06-2011)
iTunes - Windows 7 - [ver] 10.5.0.142 (10-2011)

I just created my first NASLite setup - I called the server "NASLite32" and as part of my initial testing I have copied a playlist of 931 songs (51 x .m4a + 880 x .mp3 = 6.9gb) to \\naslite32\Disk-0\MEDIA\iPhone Music. -- A small sample of from my 28,000+ library.

iTunes 10.5 shows NASLite32 under SHARED but when I attempt to open I get "Loading" followed by a brief display of the contents and then iTunes 10.5 returns to where it was prior. If I right click and use "Open in new window" it's the same behavior except that the the new window closes after briefly displaying the playlist. Brief = < 1 second.

I studied postings which looked like they may relate but didn't uncover anything which I recognized as my problem. I have tried playing with various NASLite options with no apparent change in behavior.

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome. -- Thank you for your time.

Cheers ... Phil Usher

I think the issue is with OSX. There is an issue with the file permissions that requires that you add a file to the OS to get it to work. I can't recall since it has literally been years since I have done it for the GFs Mac laptop. A search for osx permissions should find the info you are looking for.

Microsoft does a good job of breaking SAMBA and iTunes is rather a mess in my humble opinion so I really have nothing for you, sorry.

Just built a Windows 7 (64 bit) PC. Installed iTunes 10.5.
It is on a network with my Naslite M2 (32 bit) DAAP server.
I'm getting the same thing with the song list loading and then disappearing in a blink.
As a sort of fix I can load songs into a library, but it's not behaving properly.
Can access fine from a Windows XP Home (32 bit) machine.
Is this a bug - something to do with 32 bit v. 64 bit?
Help!!

Early findings suggest that this problem maybe corrected with Apple iTunes update 10.5.1.42.

I have (for the first time) been able to open my NasLite-M2 hosted 28,000+ song library from iTunes (Windows 7) and play music.
