Hi
I remarked something funny. I have a fast NL box (AMD Athlon 64 3200+ and 3Gb RAM) and the average system load never goes up very high. System load goes up to 10% when I'm doing my backups but is always below 3-4%.
I have a LAN camera that record images on the NL server. They are small files of <30kb each but they are plenty (more than 20000 files). So, from time to time, (each month), I DELete about 10k files using an XP computer on the LAN. First of all, it takes about 2 hours for the DEL to finish (first part (gathering file infos???) taking the most part of the 2 hours) ... And second, the System load goes high up around 65% for hour(s?) too on the NL server.
Why is this DEL thing soooo long and is asking sooo much from the NL server ?
Any ideas ?
Next time, I'll try DEL using FTP and see what it gives...
