How do I add a MAC to my NAS network? I am using Windos PC's but although the MAC is seeing the NAS it is asking for a password when I try to gain access. The NAS admin password dors not work. What to try next?

Put the nsmb.conf file mentioned in the above post into the Mac's /etc folder. You can use Go to Folder (Cmd-shift-G) to get there.

Then use the Mac's Connect to Server in the Go menu (Cmd-K).

Use smb://[server's IP address].

You shouldn't need a password; use Guest.

Don't use AFP because it appears to be really messed up. It changes the timestamps and leaves weird little files all over the place, some of which are hard to delete (AppleDouble for example). Whether this problem is in NL or somewhere else isn't clear to me. I have seen it reported with other NAS products.
