OK, I want to access the Drives on my NASLite system when I am away from home. I know there have been several discussions about mounting NFS shares in the forum but I am at a point where I am stuck so any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here's my situation: I have
A Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit system with Client for NFS installed.
A Dynamic IP for my WAN IP Address which is working properly
NFS started on my NASLite system
Question is: what am I missing and how do I mount the Drive on my Windows system?
Do I use Map Network Drive?
Do I need to open a port or ports on my router (port forwarding)? If so, which one(s)?
Is there any easy way to mount an NFS drive on a Windows 7 system?
When I try to Map a Network Drive I give the following information in the dialog box:
\\my-server.somewhere.net\export\Disk-0
or
\\my-server.somewhere.net\Disk-0
My router currently has port 2049 mapped and assigned to my NASLite system IP (192.168.X.XXX).
Is there anything else I need to do?
Should I give the port number in the Map to Network Drive example (above)?
Do I need to specify a user and password for the NASLite system (e.g., create an /etc/passwd file)?
This is not intuitive.
