I just finished installing Naslite and am very happy other than incredibly slow transfer rates. I'm attempting to transfer about 600GB of data to a 1TB share on teh Naslite. However, it is copying at a rate of 1MB/M... I have tried different switches(Gigabit), from different computers, with the same results. Naslite is installed on a 80GB HDD on a Intel Server MB, with 8GB of RAM, there are 2 x 1TB SATA drives. Any ideas? Thanks!

What are the average size of the files?

When I transfer 100 Mb files I get a speed of 5.5 Mb/Sec, but when transfering fiddling small html files I only get 250 Kb/Sec.

You very likely have an IRQ issue. Try moving the NIC to a different slot. What kind of NIC chip is it based on? What is the motherboard you are using?

Be sure that you are not doing multiple copies at the same time, if you are then you will be lucky to move more than a MB/sec.

On one of my machines I was able to muster 70MB+/sec from a single SCSI drive.

This was an issue with the old ISA bus and continues to be an issue with PCI.
