Long time no see.... Too busy with designing beautiful homes.

Anyway: on regular basis I am running into this annoying problem. Like today. I installed Dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com/). I am running XP SP3, and 'My Documents' is on the NAS. By default Dropbox places their folder ('My Dropbox') in 'My Documents'.

Here comes the annoying part: Dropbox tells me -while installing some help files- that there is not enough free space on my drive, which is only half filled. Dropbox isn't the only program misreading the size of the NAS, downloading pictures from my camera also is done through my desktop, and then moved to the NAS.

So my question is, does anyone experience the same problem (de temps à temps), and: does anyone have a solution?

Is My Documents mapped to:

//www.xxx.yyy.zzz/Disk-N/<folder name>

or

//www.xxx.yyy.zzz/Shares/Disk-N/<folder name>?

If it is the latter then the Shares drive (i.e. the boot device) may be too small while the Disks off it may well have enough space.

Neither is the case. My Documents is referred -from my workstation- as follows: \\Naslite-11\shares\Disk-1\Files\PieterB
Should I be using the IP in stead of the name or should I get the 'shares' out of the link? Or Both? Puzzled.

Thanks for helping out, BTW

Worth a try. Use "\\<ip-addr>\Disk-#\<rest of path>".

Thanks, Georg. I will fiddle around when I have a little more time at hand. I gave it a try this morning but noticed quickly that changing the address of My Documents is a hefty, and time consuming operation. I canceled it immediately.
