I've just setup Naslite to Mirror Disk 2 from Disk 1 and Disk 6 From Disk 5 to begin backing up some things.

I have one to back up at 21 hours and another at 00 (midnight).

Will these disk mirror every day at those times? As I don't add and remove information every day, a daily mirror seems a little overkill.

Would be possible to add a future feature request to be able to schedule your mirror/backups? ie, backup every Wedesday at xx hour/time?

That and/or the option of an incremental snapshot.

Yes, they will mirror every day. The first mirror will take a long time (full copy destroying all data that's on the destination disk), but every mirror thereafter is already of the "incremental" type and will go very fast (you have rsync to thank for that). So ... it's not really overkill to mirror every day, IMHO.

Thanks.

I'm pretty sure its starting backing up one them now, as I have some HD lights flashing, but the machine is not letting me either 1) have access to the web gui , 2) telnet into the machine, or 3) access the shared drives.

Are you normally 'locked' out during the mirror/rsync process? It is copying/mirroring over almost a full 1TB of info, so I do expect it to be cpu and memory intensive.

Yes, I think the system is just experiencing a high load ... so it may appear you are locked out. Will depend mostly on cpu and ram size. I assume the destination disks (5/6) are large enough to hold the amount of space taken by the file system on each of the respective source disk (1/2). If I need to check on progress, I usually start a browser to the "Server Storage" page and refresh occasionally.

Another thing to consider is the morror times. If you run both mirrors at the same time, then you could be maxing out your RAM.
