Hi.
My setup: 2.02. NASLite running on usb with a floppy kicker Duron 1200mhz 128mb ram 1Gb network 6 X 250gb ide disk
It seems to me that i have better transfer speed when im using naslite 2.02 vs 2.61.
2.02 i get about 12MB/sec at the whole transfer
2.61 i get from 4-9Mb/sec various before it crashes.
I have done some testing copying 40GB from disk-0 to disk-2.
In 2.02 it is stable and the transfer is done correctly.
in 2.61 the transfer stops at varius points and cant be done. The nas losses all connections. it just freezes. Cant connect via telnet, ftp, http, and smb. I have a lcd screen connected to it, and i wont react even on the keyboard. I have to do a hard reboot (the powerbutton) to get it up and running again. Then it does a check disk on disk 2. And one time i had to re validate the setup with a new unlock key, it it gave me the wrong key. did a new reboot, got a diffrent key, the key worked.
It could be that my system is crapping out on me. but it is stable on V2.02
I use total commander 7.50 in Windows xp pro, to do the transfer This pc has a 2.2ghz intel prossesor 2GB ram 1Gb network
I have run this test 3 times with the same result.
I thought 2.61 should be better and more stabel than this. Does this version need more RAM to get better preformance?
It is an old computer i have. Is the support on 2.61 with old hardware worse than 2.02?
anyway. I'm going to upgrade my hardware soon.
Any thoughts on this?
