As per the recomendations of Tony and Ralph I upgrade to the latest version of NAS lite v2.61 12-2009. I had an external usb Hard drive that I use for back up with NAS Lite. I cannot mount it with the new version, although it appears to show up in the logs.

Any Ideas why I cannot see this drive?

I'm assuming your saying here, your plugging the USB drive in after NL boots, NL doesn't support hotplug.

Make sure the drive is set to export correctly.

1 - Export Disk-1 [ RW ] (RW, RO, --)

Hi

Thanks for the answer.

I was not hot plugging. If I have a usb drive plugged in when the sytem boots up it hangs.

If I wait until the system has accessed the the Flash Drive (USB for Naslite).. and then plug in the external drive, Naslite sees it.

Any help would be appreciated!

Do you see any NASlite image or information before it boots or does it hang after the POST (at the end of BIOS checking)?

If you do not see any NASlite information, then you BIOS tries to boot from the external USB drive and and as it cannot see any OS on it, it hangs. Have a look in the BIOS on the boot section and see in which order the external drives are used to boot. If possible, set only your boot drive as the boot device.

If you see some NASlite info before it hangs, then as Dimension has said, try setting USB2 to OFF (but normally, this should not be needeed if you have CORE3)
