Just rebooted my server today after fitting a quieter case fan, and the following [5] error has just shown up:-

Nov 24 16:44:32 [2] e1000e: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Driver - 0.3.3.4-k4
Nov 24 16:44:32 [2] e1000e: Copyright (c) 1999-2008 Intel Corporation.
Nov 24 16:44:32 [2] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: PCI INT A -> GSI 20 (level, low) -> IRQ 20
Nov 24 16:44:32 [1] e1000e 0000:00:19.0: setting latency timer to 64
Nov 24 16:44:32 [5] 0000:00:19.0: 0000:00:19.0: Failed to initialize MSI interrupts. Falling back to legacy interrupts.
Nov 24 16:44:33 [2] 0000:00:19.0: eth0: (PCI Express:2.5GB/s:Width x1) 00:1c:c0:9c:27:3a
Nov 24 16:44:33 [2] 0000:00:19.0: eth0: Intel(R) PRO/1000 Network Connection
Nov 24 16:44:33 [2] 0000:00:19.0: eth0: MAC: 7, PHY: 8, PBA No: ffffff-0ff

This is the first time it has appeared.
Any ideas? It appears to be an Intel NIC bug.
The performance hasn't degraded because of it, just don't wan't it causing any file errors.

Yeah, 2.6 can be aggressive with hardware so often you'll see it assuming plan "B" when plan "A" does not pan out. :)
