On a laptop with WinXP installed on it, I have mapped one of the drives in my nasbox to a Z drive. I can connect to the drive fine, and move files back and forth just fine.

But for some strange/weird reason, WinXP seems to show the drive as only being 15.4mb, when its a 500gig drive in it.

In naslite, I can view the storage shows the drive with the correct size. Does anyone else with a mapped drive show the correct drive sizes?

Have you mapped to Shares rather than Disk-#?

Your right, I did map to shares to ensure I could map to one location to access the multiple drives in the machine. Makes complete sense now.

This is a known issue with WinXP (and I think Vista; don't know about Win7). Even if you map to "Shares" ... in the status bar at the bottom you get for each "Disk-#" a ridiculous number ... like "(Disk free space: 3.16 MB)" in my case. But at least doing a right-click and "Properties" reports it correctly and you avoid the "out of space" message when you copy to one of the disks in the mapped "Shares".

Have never seen this with any of my installs or moves. Odd. I got nothing for you here.

Vista can act strange. ive had my share of issues with it outside of naslite. Windows 7 seems to be much better.
