I'm currently using NASlite CD v2.06, have been running no problems for the past few years. I want to get rid of my 3 IDE drives and go to a 1TB SATA drive and a new motherboard that has an SATA interface. My old Motherboard only has IDE interface. If I swap the motherboard/hardware out will my CD and floppy configuration boot once I start up the new hardware? I want to make sure before I do this since files are important. Anyone know of a inexpensive micro atx motherboard with 3.0G SATA interface on it that will work for me? Thanks for your time and the help. Randy

You will have to enter a new unlock code as the hardware will (probably) have changed enough to warrant that.

On the motherboard, you don't say which processor type and socket you require.

How or where do I get a different unlock code when I switch the hardware over? I was just looking for a cheap dual core processor and micro atx motherboard. Thanks.

I wasn't sure if you intend to recycle your processor in the new board.

You can retrieve a new unlock code using the relevant page of the server status pages accessed from a client machine with internet access.

Thanks for the info on the unlock code. Its a Pentium 3 CPU, so no motherboards exists for that CPU with SATA connections on them. I actullay found a Gigabyte MB and dual core CPU and 1 gig of ram for around 120.00, thats probably what I will do. Thanks.

If memory serves, the unlock code is a hash derived from the MAC address of your nic and is the only replacement that will trigger the need for a new code. If you are using a new mobo with built-in nic, then you will need to generate a new unlock code, otherwise if you have an actual nic card, swap it to your new machine and use the same code.
