NASLite Network Attached Storage

Hi, I'm a new customer of NasLite 2 HDD. I burned a cd with the iso file, fine. I began the install withe the cd (in a USB driver, I have only this), and after the successfull beginning, the system tell me a "[failed]", can't find my cd reader and turn off the system. End of the install. The install is it compatible with a USB CD drive ? Thanks for your answer. Best regards.

You will likely need to install an ATA CDROM to get the CD version to boot properly. An alternate is to wait a bit and get the latest update, it will be a universal loader and have the USb, CDROM, and HDD loaders in the distro from what I understand. I can tell you that it rocks and is worth the wait. Thanks for joining the NL family, I think you will really like it when you get it running.

you don't need to do the initial install on the server itself
you can create the usb-stick, or os-hdd on any computer that can boot off the naslite-cd

after that, simply transfer the drive to the server and boot it


if you use the hdd version, be very carefull what drive you point the installer to
as all data on it will be erased
